Happy New Year!
I hope everyone's New Years Eve celebrations were lots of fun, and that 2009 is filled with good times and good company (also good food). Assuming all cooking goes according to plan today, C and I will be having a brunch of eggs benedict with fruit and a dinner of steak with red wine sauce and many tasty side dishes (artichokes, mashed potatoes, crusty bread, and chocolate-dipped strawberries). Also this champagne savarin if I (1) find a bundt pan or figure out how to substitute a round cake pan and (2) find my yeast, which has gone missing. It sounds like a tasty cake, plus a nice way to use up some of our Barefoot Bubbly, which I found quite tasty for an inexpensive sparkling wine. Happy New Year!
